Spinning in the Sunshine

When we have garage sales I take out my wheel, find the best location in the driveway, and spin between visitors. It’s a little weird to have people looking through a large portion of our soon-to-be-former household objects. Does anyone find it strange that we have piles of well worn true crime, thriller, horror, and science fiction paperbacks intermingling with crock-pot cookbooks and knitting magazines from the 70′s?

I tend to hope that people realize I did not purchase a single blue and white ceramic goose even though there is a veritable flock of them on a table. I have considered hanging a sign to clear up any misconceptions about my blue and white ceramic goose ownership but so far I have restrained myself.

Anyway back to spinning. Well this weekend was much better in both weather and attitude than our last garage sale in the early part of the summer. The weather was beautiful, not too hot, but sunny, clear with a nice breeze. The people were also much more spinner friendly and we ended up having lots of pleasant conversations about gardening, spinning, knitting, history, woodworking, wine making, and small farms with the people that came around. It was amazingly nice.
