Not a wool moth
A few nights ago I was spinning a pot luck fiber mix (basically handfuls of stuff left over from other batts) that had silk, ingeo, blue and green merino, lime green something, and a mix of white merino and other wools when this little guy came for a visit. At first I thought it was a bit of paper stuck to the wheel but when I paused to pull it off I saw that I had a unique hitchhiker (I assume this is the same one that followed me into the kitchen when I was bringing in the laundry.)
After his photo session we coaxed him on to a piece of paper and released him back into the wild (well what passes as the wild) well away from our fierce moth eating preditors (aka the cats) and he fluttered off. I do know he’s not a meal moth or a wool moth, but don’t know what kind of moth he is. If anyone does know would you do me a favor and tell me?
This is the pot luck yarn on the bobbin, there’s not a whole lot of it in the single form so I think what I’ll do is ply it on itself and make a small bag out of it. I didn’t think I’d be this impressed with a yarn made essentially from waste, but it’s quite pretty so far.
