Not so speedy posting this time.
My sister came in from Florida last night. Because I’m evil (and I have my childrens with me) I claimed the guest bedroom and both of the beds, Sister sleeps on the couch. Yes, this is probably another sign that I have unresolved issues stemming from sibling rivalry during my early childhood.
I bought some fat quarters of cotton at Jo-Anns yesterday and Matt brought up the copy of Kokoro no Te that he bought for me. Talk about weirdness, if using another person’s computer is odd (and it is) using another persons craft room is even weirder. I’m going to try to borrow a camera so I can show you what Mom’s craft room looks like– when it come to craft stashes Mom makes me look like a piker.
You can go to the middle of the craft room and then about four inches in any direction, and it’s not a tiny room. With some stretching, contorting, and clambering skills you have access to about 60% of the room’s contents. Should Mom say that needed item or notion is at the bottom of a pile, it’s best to just go to a craft store and buy a new one, because that remaining 40% of stuff is just not worth the immediate risk of serious physical harm that one faces trying to access it. This is what happens when a crafter is a spaver (“spaver” n. one who spends to save) and an?experience?hoarder (“I’ll use the nice stuff when I’m better at this.”)
I have done a lot of knitting on the Brooke’s Column of Leaves scarf, it’s about 4.5 feet long now, and I think my sister is already claiming it as her own. The yak spinning is still entertaining.
Your Mom’s craft room sounds a bit like how mine is right now. I’m working on it. What’s Kokoro no Te? I’m intrigued. Sounds like the Column of Leaves is coming along great!
BTW, you’re no longer “banned” from my blog.
